SAN FRANCISCO -- A second half goal by Warrior Sergio Sousa even the score as the Cal State Stanislaus men's soccer team opened the 2008 season with a 1-1 draw at Academy of Art University. The match, the first under new Stanislaus coach Ahmad Tousi, was played at historic Kezar Stadium in San Francisco.

The AAU Urban Knights were playing on emotional high as the match was the athletics program's first ever collegiate contest. Academy of Art started its athletics programs is in its inaugural year.

For Stanislaus men's soccer, it was the start of a new era under coach Tousi, an internationally known coach from Iran.

After a scoreless first half, AAU's Jaime Patino-Calvo scored a goal off a free-kick taken by Andrew Gonzales from about 30-yards out.

Shortly after, Cal State Stanislaus answered right back with the goal by Sousa. 

The teams played scoreless soccer for the rest of the regulation and the two extra periods for the final score.
