TURLOCK -- Katie Busi notched her eighth double-double of the season -- the 21st of her career -- as the Cal State Stanislaus women's basketball team held on to beat Cal State L.A., 62-59, Saturday night.

Busi scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds -- seven of them offensive -- to lead the Warriors as they improved to 4-11 overall and 3-8 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Alishea Kelly had 14 points and eight rebounds and Christin Gowan knocked in 13 points with five assists and four steals. Ebony Mims-Johnson also grabbed eight rebounds.

Three players had double-digits in scoring for Cal State L.A. Shatori Dearman scored 16 points to lead the Golden Eagles (4-12, 2-9 CCAA).

The Warriors led by as many as 15 points halfway through the second half. A pair of Busi free throws made it 51-36 with 9:40 to go.

Cal State L.A. would rally and used a 20-6 run to cut the Stanislaus lead to one. Dearman, who scored six points during the rally, nailed a layup with 48 seconds left to go to make it 57-56.

On the ensuing Warrior possession, Gowan would drive the lane and rolled in a layup with 27 ticks left to give CSUS a 3-point, 59-56, advantage. Three Kelly free throws later, the Warriors take a 62-56 lead with 11 seconds left, but LA's Jordan Kuzma drained a three-pointer to give the visitors a little hope.

With 1.7 seconds left, Mims-Johnson missed a free throw, but Kelly controlled the offensive rebound as time ran out for the Warrior win.

Kuzma finished with 14 points and Jazzi Johnson chipped in 11 for the Golden Eagles.

The Warriors, winners of two of last three games, remain home next weekend as they host San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay.
