SAN BERNARDINO -- Alishea Kelly had 23 points but the Warriors lost to Cal State San Bernardino, 76-70, Friday at Coussoulis Arena.

Kelly was 8-for-14 from the field and Christin Gowan scored 17 points with nine rebounds lead lead Cal State Stanislaus. The Warriors dropped to 5-13 overall and 4-10 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Krystal Urzua had 19 points and Amanda Ragains scored 18 points off the bench to lead the Coyotes as they improved to 12-8 overall and 8-7 in the CCAA.

A 24-6 run mid-way through the second half help put the Warriors away. After CSUSB took a 40-36 lead at the half, the Warriors closed it to a one-point gap twice with the final coming at 44-43 with 17:24 left. That was as close as CSUS came the rest of the contest as the Coyotes had six different players score in that run to put CSUSB up 64-49 with 7:57 remaining. Cal State San Bernardino took its biggest lead of the half at 67-51 with 7:11 left.

CSUSB held a double-digit lead up until the 1:58 mark when Kelly hit a layup and Gowan found the bottom of net with a three to cap a 14-3 run as the Warriors cut it to 70-65 with 1:20 left. Despite the late run, the Coyotes were able to hold off Stanislaus in the final two minutes.

Neither team led by more than four in the first half until the 10:10 mark when Ragains capped an 8-0 run with a trey to put the Coyotes up 27-20. The Warriors cut it to 32-31 with 3:14 left in the half, but back-to-back treys by Ashlee Ford and Ragains put CSUSB up 38-31. Stanislaus got an offensive put back and a three to cut it 38-36 with 59 seconds left before Kymberly Ooten sank a two to give the Coyotes a 40-36 lead at intermission.

The Warriors out scored the Coyotes 28-6 in the paint, but the CSUSB bench notched 30 points compared to just 18 from Stanislaus.
