TURLOCK — A full day of events with nearly 650 student-athletes and 24 teams were featured at today's inaugural Kim Duyst Invitational at the Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium.

Many high marks were set and new stadium records fell on the 9-1/2 hour meet at the new facility at California State University, Stanislaus.

"There were several PR's and seasonal best for the Stanislaus team," CSUS head coach Geoff Bradshaw said. "The times ran on the new facility were very fast for this time of the year and made this a very high quality meet."

In the women's competition, Chico State dominated the CCAA team scoring standings with 205 points. Cal Poly Pomona was second with 169 points, San Francisco State third at 128, followed by Cal State Stanislaus with 105.

Freshman Rio Schwalbach was one of the Warriors with a great day, setting personal bests in all four of her events with two top five finishes. She was fourth in the high jump (4-11 3/4) and fifth in the triple jump (33-2 1/2). She also leaped 15-5 in the long jump and clocked 17.42 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles.

Denali Foldager and sister Rubye Foldager also paced the Warriors in two middle distance races. Denali was second in the 1500-meter run with a season best 4:44.29. Rubye came in fourth in the same event clocking 4:51.15 and later on the day came in fourth in the 800-meter run in 2:20.64.

Other highlights include a fourth place finish by Derrhea McLiechey in the 400-meter run. The CCAA female track and field athlete of the week timed 59.63 seconds.

In the pole vault, three Warriors finished 3-4-5 with Annie Burlingham leading the way with a 11-2 1/4. She finished behind former CSUS All-American Rosemary Feikert (12-2) and Chico State's Katrina Rodriguez (11-9 3/4), who posted a NCAA provisional qualifying height.

Kristy Long was fourth in the pole vault (10-8 1/4) and Cleary Wunder turned in a top five finish with a 10-2 1/2.

In the throwing events, freshman Jeni Cunha continues to improve tossing a personal best 40-7 to finish third in the shot put. Yolonda Diaz also highlighted in the javelin with a 104-05.

The Kim Duyst Track & Field Invitational was in honor and recognition for the former CSUS head coach who served 20 years at the helm of the program.

"Four former head coaches and many former student-athletes that were prodigies of coach Duyst were here today," Bradshaw said. "(Duyst) teared up as her former coaches and athletes presented her with flowers to honor her.

Bradshaw continued: "I am very honored to be the meet director of such a nice meet but it would not have been anywhere close to his level without all of the help from the students, officials and especially the finish line/timing crew. They made this an outstanding event."
