WALNUT CREEK -- Cal Stanislaus' Verena Preikschas has been named the Penn/California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of March 1-7, it was announced on Monday.

Preikschas, a sophomore from Arnsberg, Germany. the Warriors No. 1 player had perfect week as she went undefeated in three singles and doubles matches last week. She helped Cal State Stanislaus to pair of wins over Cal State San Bernardino and a win against Sonoma State.

Preikschas won her singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores and teamed with Katie Eng to defeat Cal State San Beranrdino's doubles teams of Allison Brooks and Isabella Fraczek, 8-3. They then bested Sonoma State's Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire by an 8-0 count.

It is the second straight week that a Warrior has earned this weekly honor. Last week, Eng was named the top player in the conference for the week.

Cal State Stanislaus is next on the courts on March 27 when it hosts Cal State L.A.
