NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the Division II Academic Teams this week and both of the Cal State Stanislaus men's and women's teams made the list for 2009.
The Warriors men's team is among 62 in Division II and the women's team are one of 100 in the nation receiving USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.
Cal State Stanislaus men's team posted a 3.24 team GPA while the women tallied a 3.11 as a group. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
Cal Poly Pomona and UC San Diego are the only other CCAA institutions with both teams making the grade while the San Francisco State women's team also made the list in 2009.
Adams State College are the 2009 NCAA Division II USTFCCCA Men’s & Women's Cross Country Scholar Teams of the Year. The Scholar Team of the Year distinction goes to the program that earned All-Academic Team honors and placed the highest among the field at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
