Jeff, a fierce competitor, was a major contributor to the success of the Warrior baseball team during the four years he was the starting pitcher. His teams advanced to post season competition in NCAA Division III three times and placed second at the Word Series twice. In 1982 Jeff was voted the World Series Most Valuable Player (the only such choice from a non-championship team in the history of the tournament), first Team All-American, and first Team All-Conference. At the conclusion of his career Jeff held the division III record for innings pitched in a single season with 163 1/3, and for games started in a season with 20. At the time of his induction to the Hall of Fame, Jeff still held CSUS records for innings pitched (493 1/3), games started (63), games won (41), complete games (40), and strikeouts (279). Jeff signed with the San Francisco Giants and reached the AAA level of play in his professional career.
Inducted January 27, 2001
