While competing for the Warrior baseball team the hard fighting right fielder earned selection to the 1979 NCAA Division III World Series All Tournament team, and was selected first team All American. In 1980 Randy was a member of the Far Western Conference championship team and was selected Far Western Co-Player of the year. He completed the 1980 season by being selected first team All American. In both 1979 and 1980 Randy led the team in runs scored, total bases, doubles, and home runs. At the time of his induction Randy ranked 2nd in career runs scored (103), third in career home runs (18), third in career slugging percentage (.596), fourth in career batting average (.339), fourth in career total bases (218), fourth in doubles (24), fifth in hits (124), and seventh in runs batted in (72). Following his collegiate eligibility Randy played several seasons with the New York Yankee organization.
