Tony Jacob was named the CCAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his performance in the Warriors' 6-2 victory at Cal State San Bernardino this past Friday.
Jacob struck out seven batters including the final batter and walked four in his complete game victory over the Coyotes. The senior left-handed pitcher gave up just three hits and two unearned runs in seven innings. This was Jacob's first victory of the season as the Warriors picked up the sweep of the doubleheader over Cal State San Bernardino.
This is Jacob's first career pitcher of the week award and the Warriors' first since March 10, 2020, when Ryan TInsley received this honor.
Stan State (7-7-1, 3-3 CCAA) returns home to Warrior Field for a four-game series against Chico State, March 8-10. The series will begin with a 6:00 p.m starting single game Friday, March 8. The two teams will continue the series with a 1:00 p.m. starting doubleheader Saturday, March 9. The series finale will be Sunday, March 10 at noon.
