Nearly 2,300 youth soccer players, fans and community members came out to Warrior Stadium on Saturday and participated in the annual Kickoff Carnival, presented by the Turlock Youth Soccer Association (TYSA) and Cal State Stanislaus soccer.
In cooperation with the City of Turlock Parks and Recreation Department, the Kickoff Carnival signaled the start of the season.
The event featured many fun activities for sports enthusiasts of all ages including bounce houses, dunk tank, face painting, a climbing wall and other carnival games, as well as music and entertainment. Area coaches participated in a clinic with Cal State Stanislaus men's soccer head coach
Dana Taylor. The Turlock Tornados also conducted a players' clinic.
Emanual Hospital, the Stockton Cougars, University Police, the Warriors women's team, the Warrior Cheer Team and mascot Titus were also on hand.
Admission to the carnival was free to attendees with a canned food donation, which benefits food banks in our community.
