WALNUT CREEK – The 2011 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's and Women's Soccer Championships have been awarded to Cal State Stanislaus for the third year in a row, conference commissioner Robert J. Hiegert announced on Tuesday.

The eight-team event will be contested November 4-6 at three-year old Warrior Stadium on the campus of Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock. The championship format calls for two men's and women's semifinal games to be played on Friday, Nov. 4 with the championship contests slated for Sunday, Nov. 6.

“Cal State Stanislaus has demonstrated over the last two years that it has an outstanding facility that the student-athletes enjoy competing at, and under Director of Athletics Dr. Milt Richards' leadership, has done a commendable job hosting the event,” Hiegert said. “Turlock is centrally located within the state providing a relatively convenient trip for all the participating programs.

“The membership is confident that Cal State Stanislaus will continue to stage quality championships at its outstanding venue and provide a positive experience for the participating student-athletes,” Hiegert added.

“CSU Stanislaus is truly honored to host the CCAA men's and women's soccer championships for the third year in a row,” CSU Stanislaus President Hamid Shirvani said. “We look forward to once again welcoming student-athletes from around the state, along with their friends and families, for another outstanding competition.”

Warrior Stadium, with a listed capacity of 2,100, is part of the $16.1 million Student Recreation Complex that officially opened in August of 2009. The facility was also the host site for the 2011 CCAA Track and Field Championships as well as the 2011 NCAA Division Track and Field National Championships.

Cal State Stanislaus will be hosting the CCAA Championships for the fourth time, and the event will be held in Northern California for the sixth time since the conference began sponsoring a postseason tournament in 1999.

Sonoma State is the defending men's champion while San Francisco State captured the women's title for the first time in program history in 2010.

Tickets to the tournament will be available beginning October 3 by visiting www.warriorathletics.com.

Two-day tournament passes are $15 for general admission, $8 for students and seniors, and $3 for children under 12. Single-day tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors, and $2 for children under 12.
