Chris Ortiz turned in a dominant all-around weekend hitting .615 (8-for-13) with three home runs, 11 RBIs, six runs scored, and a 1.385 slugging percentage while posting a .737 on-base mark. He recorded a hit in all four games against CSU Dominguez Hills, highlighted by a two-run home run in the 4-3 Game 3 win and another two-run homer in the 8-4 series finale, where he also scored three times. Defensively, Ortiz added 25 chances and posted a .960 fielding percentage over the four-game set, while also making an appearance on the mound, tossing 2.0 innings with two strikeouts in Game 2.
