California State University, Stanislaus and Warrior Athletics promote and encourage good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. Cooperation is expected by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner.
Additionally, use of profanity, racial, or sexist comments, or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches and team representatives are not tolerated.
NCAA Statement (NCAA Bylaw 10.1.1)
Individuals employed by (or associated with) a member institution to administer, conduct or coach intercollegiate athletics, and all participating student-athletes, shall deport themselves with honesty and sportsmanship at all times so that intercollegiate athletics as a whole, their institutions and they, as individuals, shall represent the honor and dignity of fair play and the generally recognized high standards associated with wholesome competitive sports.

Will Keener Sportsmanship Award
The Stanislaus State Will Keener Sportsmanship Award honors student-athletes who, through their actions in the competitive arena of intercollegiate athletics, have demonstrated one or more of the ideals of sportsmanship, including fairness, civility, honesty, unselfishness, respect and responsibility.
The award, started during the 2006-07 academic year, is named after Will Keener, who served as the University's publicity director and sports information director for more than 31 years. He passed away in September of 2006 after a long illness.
Keener was named Turlock's 1984 Citizen of the Year and won the CoSIDA Bob Kenworthy Community Service "Good Person" award. The Sportsmen of Stanislaus Club in Modesto honored him with a Jay Pattee Memorial Award at the 2008 Awards Banquet.
