Tyler tossed 8 1/3 innings — and 7 four-hit shutout innings — and gave up just a single run (in the ninth inning) before turning it over to the bullpen. He retired 13 batters in a row by throwing strikes and relying on the defense. He recorded 15 fly outs with seven to center plus six groundouts.
