Warrior women's basketball player Mya Blake and men's soccer player Edgar Castaneda are this year's Newcomers of the Year.

Blake averaged a team leading 14.9 points per game while being named to the All-CCAA Second Team.  She scored 1,000^th point of her collegiate career this season.  The SF State transfer finished tenth in the CCAA in scoring while averaging 3.3 rebounds per game, 65 total steals, and shooting 77% from the charity stripe. 

Castaneda started in all 17 matches for the Warrior men's soccer team.  He played in over 1100 minutes on the pitch and finished second on the team with his five goals.  The Cal Poly Humboldt transfer assisted on three of the Warriors' goals this season.
