Warrior Spirit Award: Warrior Spirit award recognizes a student-athlete who has overcome, or currently be dealing with, the stress, anxiety and mental trauma associated with personal hardships, life circumstances, or injury. The adversity does not need to have occurred during their college years. This year's recipients are men's basketball player Daniel Ameyaw and women's volleyball player Gabby Rawson.

Ameyaw is an international student who this past season had a breakout year until he had a season ending injury the last two months of the season. Despite the news he has remained positive and optimistic through recovery and has continued to be an exemplary student. Ameyaw shot 50% from the field while averaging 8.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this season.  He also recorded thirteen blocked shots and dished out seventeen assists in seven games. 

Rawson is a two-time All-CCAA recipient that bounced back from a season ending injury last year and a number of other health scares.  Despite her injurie, the libero led the conference in both digs per set and total digs where she finished eleventh and forty-first national.  Her 5.39 digs per set average also places her second in program history for a single season.  Rawson was a three-time CCAA Defensive Player of the Week and named to the All-Tournament Team at the Ice Block Classic.
