Christin Gowan

Christin Gowan has joined the Cal State Stanislaus coaching staff, as an assistant to Wayman Strickland, during the Fall of 2012.

Gowan was a four-year starter on the Warriors' basketball team from 2007 to 2011. During that time, Gowan turned in one of the best careers by a Warrior in recent years as a guard.

In four seasons, Gowan tallied 947 points (5th on CSUS Career list) and 322 assists (2nd). She led the Warriors in assists for three straight seasons including 114 in 2010-11, which ties for second-best on the Stanislaus single-season list.

Gowan was a prolific three-point shooter as she twice led the team in 3-pointers, including 38 during the 2009-10 season. She holds the school record in free throw percentage with a 87.5 clip when she made 70 of 80 in 2007-08.

Off the court, Gowan was a three-time CCAA All-Academic honoree and was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team in 2011.

Gowan spent her prep career at Manteca's East Union High School, where she was an League and District Most Valuable Player (2007).

Aside from her basketball career, Gowan is also a teacher at Edison High School in Stockton.

Gowan obtained her teaching credential in Mathematics froM Cal State Stanislaus in Dec. of 2011 after picking up a bachelor's degreen in psychology in June of 2010, when she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She also has a master's degree in coaching and athletic administration from University of Concordia in Irvine.
