Larry Reynolds

Larry Reynolds, who has coached Division I and II championship teams at Long Beach State, Cal State San Bernardino and now at Cal State University, Stanislaus, became the head coach of the men’s basketball program in June of 2009 and has taken the program to new heights at the NCAA Division II level.
 
In his time at Stanislaus, he has led the Warriors to a NCAA West Regional Final, 2 NCAA tournament wins, a CCAA conference tournament championship (2013-14), and four CCAA conference tournament appearances.  Since Reynolds' arrival in 2009, the Warriors are 89-79, including a school-record 23-win season in 2013-14, he has produced a program first NCAA Division II All-American and two players on the NCAA Division II All-West Region 1st team.
 
Reynolds compiled an impressive record as a head coach for 10 seasons after a number of years as an assistant coach at UC Riverside and the University of San Francisco.
 
In five seasons at Long Beach State, he directed his teams to consecutive post-season playoff appearances from 2004-05 to 2006-07, including a Big West Conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in his final year.  Long Beach State rolled to a 24-8 record in 2006-07, and he was named Big West Conference Coach of the Year.
 
At Division II Cal State San Bernardino, Reynolds’ teams rolled up a dazzling 110-35 record over five seasons and made four consecutive NCAA West Regional appearances. His clubs won three CCAA championships (1999-2002), two West Region titles, and advanced to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight twice.
 
At Cal State San Bernardino, after a 12-15 first season, Reynolds turned the program around to post a 23-8 season in 1998-99 and won the West Region in 1999. The team advanced as far as the NCAA Championship quarterfinals.
 
CSUSB advanced to the 2001 West Regional title game and posted a 24-4 record that season. The following year, in 2002, Reynolds again led the Coyotes to an impressive 28-2 overall record before falling in the NCAA Championship quarterfinal game.
 
Reynolds was named CCAA Conference Coach of the Year four times and National Association of Basketball Coaches District Eight Coach of the Year in 1998-99.
 
From 1979 to 1995, Reynolds was an associate head coach at UC Riverside with John Masi. UCR won eight CCAA titles and made the NCAA tournament 10 times, including three Elite Eight appearances. In 1994, UCR advanced to the national championship game. During the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons, Reynolds served as an assistant coach at the University of San Francisco.
 
Reynolds played at UC Riverside where he was a conference most valuable player in basketball. He graduated from UCR with a degree in urban studies in 1976 and later earned his master’s degree in education from Azusa Pacific in 1993.
