Caitlin Steffeck set a new school record with blocks in a career Friday night but No. 20 UC San Diego swept through as CSUS dropped in three, 30-24, 30-16, 30-25.
The Warriors dropped to 5-18 overall and 1-11 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and will face Cal State L.A. on Saturday. UC San Diego has now won 10 straight against CSUS and improved to 14-6, 8-6 in the CCAA.
Steffeck had four total blocks with one solo Friday and is now Cal State Stanislaus' all-time leading in career blocks with 292, surpassing previous record of 290 set by Angie Tribble from 1997 to 2000.
The Warriors had very little answers offensively as no one had more than five kills.
Nicole Musso led the way with five. She also had 8 total blocks as part of the team's 13 team blocks.
Megan Loghry contributed with eight blocks assists.
UC San Diego had 16 aces and was led by Amber Ries with 13 kills. Rebecca Bailey had seven kills and five aces to lead the Tritons.
