SEASIDE -- The Warriors' women's soccer team turned in another shutout win on the road as they defeated Cal State Monterey Bay, 1-0, Friday afternoon on CSUMB campus just outside of Monterey.

Adrienne Sorenson scored with about 10 minutes left to go in the first half to account for the only score of the match. That goal was plenty for the Warriors defense and goalkeeper Jessica Sitarz recorded her sixth shutout victory. It was Stanislaus's fourth consecutive road victory -- all of them shutouts.

"We felt like we need to get this win to continue the battle to play for the conference championship," Warrior head coach Gabe Bolton said.

With the win, the Warriors improved to 6-2-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and 8-6-1 overall. CSUMB is 2-6-2 overall and 1-6-1 in the CCAA.

Sorenson got behind the Otter defenders and Jessica Cordova made a great pass to allow Sorenson to go one-on-one against Monterey's goalkeeper to score her fifth goal of the season.

"We were playing under difficult conditions, it was very windy here today, and we did a great job battling for the win," Bolton said. "Kim DiNardo and Jessica (Cordova) did a fantastic job for us a midfield today, helping us keep possession."

Over the last four CCAA road matches, the Warriors have outscored their opponents 6-0 and have only allowed one goal in the last 470 minutes over five matches on the road.

Cal State Stanislaus is off the rest of the weekend and will play its final home matches next week during homecoming week. The Warriors host Sonoma State on Friday at 12:30 p.m. before playing on Warrior Field for the final time against Humboldt State next Sunday.
