CHICO — The Chico State Wildcats continue to be the Warriors' nemesis after blanking Cal State Stanislaus 2-0 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association women's soccer match at University Soccer Field.

For the ninth straight time against Chico State, the Warriors were limited to one goal or fewer as the Wildcats beat Stanislaus for the fifth consecutive meeting.

"It is a dissappointing loss considering how well we played. From 18 to 18 our possession and defending was outstanding," CSUS head coach Gabe Bolton said. "Chico simply finished their chances. Inside the box they were tougher on both ends."

Ashley Perlman and Ali Sward scored goals for Chico State, which improved to 6-4-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the CCAA. The Warriors are 5-3-3, 1-3-2 in league play.

Stanislaus out-shot Chico State 9-8 while each team managed four shots on frame. CSUS goalkeeper Jessica Sitarz had two saves while Chico's goalie Natalie Bensky picked up four saves.

"I'm extremely proud of the soccer we are playing. It is now time to step up and put it all together so we can see the results of our efforts," Bolton added.

Chico State got on the board in the 10th minute when Perlman netted her scored by chipping over the shoulder of Sitarz to the far corner. Melissa Lindsay and Anjie Goulding were credited with assists. Sward made it 2-0 in the 65th minute with a shot from 18 yards out.
