TURLOCK — The frustration for the Warriors women's soccer team continued on Friday as they drop a heart-breaker to UC San Diego, 1-0, at the Turlock Regional Sports Complex.

UC San Diego scored late, in the 87th minute, as the Tritons handed Cal State Stanislaus a California Collegiate Athletic Association loss. UC San Diego improved to 10-2-1 overall and 7-2-0 in the CCAA and extended its winning streak to three. The Warriors are now 5-4-4 and 1-4-3 in CCAA play.

Cal State Stanislaus certainly held its own in the match-up against a regional power and at times out-played the Tritons. The Warriors again had any scoring chances but was not able to find the back of the net.

"We played well and created chance but just couldn't finish," CSUS head coach Gabe Bolton said. "Sometimes it just comes down to making a play. San Diego just made one more play than we did."

The UCSD goal was scored by Laura Borenstein who tipped in a pass from Sarah McTigue. McTigue got the ball in front of the net on a cross play from the far-side from Alexia Zatarian.

"It is frustrating to be playing well but not see the results," Bolton said. "The team is doing a great job of working hard and staying positive. I continue to be proud of our effort and the soccer we are playing. The results will come."

CSUS goalkeeper Jessica Sitarz and the defense kept UCSD off the board for the most part with Sitarz picking up six saves. UCSD's goalkeeper Jessica McGovern had four saves. UCSD out-shot Stanislaus 15-9.

The Warriors will host Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday with the kickoff at 11:30 a.m. The first 150 fans will receive a free team poster which can be autographed after the contest.
