Turlock - Despite a strong first half performance, the Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team was not able to hold off Cal State Dominguez Hills falling 2-1 Sunday at the Turlock Regional Sports Complex.  With the loss the Warriors are now 5-5-4 (1-5-3 CCAA), while the Toros improved to 10-5-0 (8-2-0 CCAA).

The Warriors got on the board first when Tiffani Moore took a pass from Mackenzie Flandro and knocked it into the upper left corner of the net.  "It was a beautiful pass by Mackenzie to set up Tiffani," noted head coach Gabe Bolton.  It was Moore's second goal of the season.

However, the second half belonged to the Toros as they scored twice to take the lead and were able to hold on for the victory.  Jessica Murphy scored her eighth goal of the season in the 52nd minute of play and Natalie Moreno scored the game winner in the 73rd minute of action.

It was a tale of two halves as the Warriors out shot the Toros eight to three in the first half, while the Toros outshot the Warriors 12 to seven after intermission.  Jessica Sitarz recorded six saves for the Warriors.

"We played our best half of the season in the first half, executing offensively and defensively," said Bolton, "but we stop playing in the second half and we did not have the same energy and execution for the full 90 minutes".

The Warriors will be back at home next Friday to take on the San Francisco State Gators, kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
