ROHNERT PARK -- Against one of the top teams in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, the Warriors volleyball team played tough and stayed close before losing to Sonoma State in straight sets.
Jen Gee had 10 kills and 10 digs and
Lianne Vicchio added 10 kills to lead Cal State Stanislaus, but the Warriors dropped to 4-18 overall and 1-11 in the CCAA. Sonoma State improved to 17-4 and 9-3 in the CCAA.
Sonoma State is tied for fourth in the conference and is just one game behind leader Cal State San Bernardino.

Colleen Sullivan had 30 assists and
Amanda Pielstick led the team with 15 digs.
In front of a supportive group of Cal State Stanislaus students who made the trip to Rohnert Park, the Warriors came out strong. Stanislaus hit .300 in the first set but was turned away by Sonoma State. SSU was slightly better offensively, putting away 18 kills on a .359 percentage.
In the second, the Warriors led at 23-21, but the Seawolves rallied after a sideout and got two kills from Kristy Sather to finish the set for the win. Sather finished with 10 kills to lead SSU.
Ali Walker had 19 digs and Lindsay Brown dished 35 assists to lead pace Sonoma State.
