TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus women's volleyball play could not match the intensity and level of play it displayed just three nights earlier as the Warriors dropped to Chico State in straight sets Tuesday night.

Chico State out-played the Warriors in many areas and it show in the statistical categories as the Wildcats won 25-19, 25-18 and 25-17. Chico State improved to 18-9 overall and 11-6 in the CCAA with its third straight win. The Warriors are now 6-21 and 3-14 in league play.

Unlike Saturday night when the Warriors upset No. 13 Cal State L.A., Stanislaus went off to a late start and never really recovered. Chico State was able to find the court often and walked away with a .386 hitting night — led by Lindsay Macias who had 10 kills, seven digs and three block assists. She was one of five Chico regular attackers with a .250 hitting percentage or better at a .471 clip.

Megan Cape added nine kills while Makenzie Snyder and Gillian Heydorff each had eight to pace Chico State. Setter Erica Brick had 32 assists.

Lianne Vicchio led the Warriors with seven kills and seven digs and Angela Ohland had six kills. Setter Nicki Brown had 18 assists to go with three kills and two aces.  As a team, Stanislaus was 24-for-87 with 17 errors (.080) on the attack.

The Warriors were also out-played defensively on digs (40-24) and blocks (12-3 total). Chico also had seven service aces.

Cal State Stanislaus completed its home season and has three conference matches on the road remaining. The Warriors will face No. 12 UC San Diego Thursday night in La Jolla.
