SAN BERNARDINO — For the eighth consecutive match -- and 16th this season -- Lianne Vicchio had double-digits in kills. But it wasn't enough as the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team dropped to Cal State San Bernardino in four at Coussoulis Arena.

Cal State San Bernardino, ranked No. 3 in this week's AVCA Top 25, improved to 21-1 overall and 14-1 in the CCAA after the 25-16, 23-25, 25-16, 25-13 win.

Vicchio had 17 kills and 11 digs, her ninth double-double this season, to lead the Warriors as they fall to 8-14 overall and 2-12 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. Janay Bankston chipped in nine kills and setter Jessica Lehner had 29 assists, six digs and three total blocks.

The Coyotes were led by Nicole Moore with 16 kills while Jane Chafeh added 14 kills with 11 digs.

Vicchio, a sophomore from Orangevale, has been on a hot streak of late with at least 17 kills in four of the last five matches. After setting a new career high with 17 on Oct. 9, she equaled that effort the following night. Last Saturday against Cal State Monterey Bay, Vicchio surpassed her own career-best with 18 kills.

For the season, Vicchio has 262 kills and, in just two years, she is already on the CSUS career top 10 list with 572 kills.

Friday night, after CSUSB took the first set 25-16, the Warriors battled the Coyotes point-by-point in the second until the Warriors broke the 23-23 tie with two straight points for the win. Vicchio had nine of her 17 kills in that second game while the Stanislaus offense clicked with 16 kills on 33 tries with just five errors.

But the stronger San Bernardino team rebounded quickly and put away Stanislaus in the final two sets for the win.
