ARCATA -- The Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team suffered its second straight 1-0 loss this weekend as the Warriors dropped to Humboldt State at the Redwood Bowl on Sunday.

Sarah Nakamoto's goal with 1:23 left to play in the first half accounted for the only score as Humboldt State improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

"We battled hard again today just could not find a way to win," CSUS head coach Gabriel Bolton said. "We just have to be a little cleaner in the final third."

After a 4-0 preseason record, Cal State Stanislaus dropped its first two CCAA contests heading into a busy week. The Warriors will have to travel to Chico State on Wednesday before hosting UC San Diego on Friday and Cal State East Bay next Sunday.

Stanislaus goalkeeper Jessica Sitarz picked up five saves.

"(Kim DiNardo) and (Bernadette Bettencourt) were fantastic in the midfield.  Kim did a great job  controlling things defensively for us and Bernie was dynamic offensively."

The Warriors missed a great chance just 50 seconds into the match when Bettencourt had a breakaway play but her shot sailed just wide.

Stanislaus appeared to have tied the score with about 13 minutes left to play, but Lisa Garcia's goal was called off on an offsides call.

The Warriors lost to Sonoma State 1-0 in Rohnert Park on Friday and after shutting out four preseason opponents, Stanislaus is now on the short end of two one-goal matches.
