TURLOCK — The Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team dropped to Cal Poly Pomona in four sets, 25-22, 25-18, 12-25, 25-18, despite putting up a hard fought battle in a California Collegiate Athletic Association match Friday night.
Lianne Vicchio led the Warriors with 12 kills while
Andrea Fett and
Melissa Bishop with nine kills but the Warriors fall to 5-5 overall and 0-3 in the CCAA. Cal Poly Pomona improved to 5-5 and 2-1 in the CCAA.
The service game kept the Warriors in contention as they tallied a total of 12 aces as a team.
Lauren Charles led the team with five service aces. She also had 13 digs to lead the Warriors.
Amanda Pielstick had 11 digs while setter
Nicki Brown had 33 assists.
Cal Poly Pomona was led by Elizabeth Diaz with 13 kills and Lindsey Poulos had 11. Courtney Alberi and Diana Lake each nine.
Next match for the Warriors will be Saturday night against 2008 national runner-up Cal State San Bernardino. The Coyotes are currently ranked No. 2 in the latest AVCA coaches poll. First serve is 7 p.m. at Warrior Arena.
