LA JOLLA -- The Cal State Stanislaus women's soccer team suffered its second road loss this weekend, this time a 3-0 defeat at No. 22 UC San Diego on Sunday.

The Warriors, now 9-4-1 overall and 7-4-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, remain in second place in the CCAA North. San Francisco State, with a win over CSU Monterey Bay, now leads the Warriors by four points in the division.

UC San Diego leads the South Division over Cal State Dominguez Hills by a point. The Tritons improved to 10-2-2 overall and 8-2-2 in conference play.

"I was please with the way we battled today especially in the first half," Warriors head coach Gabriel Bolton said. "The difference in the game was San Diego put away their chances and we didn't."

Three different Tritons scored for UC San Diego on Sunday despite the Warriors holding a rapid-shooting offense down to 10 shots in the match with five on goal.

Sarah McTigue scored her fifth of the season for UCSD at 18:05 to give the home team a 1-0 lead. She beat a Warrior defender around the corner and knocked it past Stanislaus goalkeeper Millie Brown.

With the score at 1-0 at the break, UCSD came out of the gate in the second half with two quick scores. Aneette Ilg scored in the 51st minute and Shelby Wong, who assisted on the Ilg goal, added a third goal at 55:21.

UC San Diego out-shot the Warriors 10-5 with Stanislaus freshman Karenee Demery firing off the only shot of goal for the Warriors.

Cal State Stanislaus went 1-2-1 in the four-game road stretch. The Warriors return home to host Cal State Monterey Bay and San Francisco State next weekend at Warrior Stadium.

"We are looking forward to playing at home next weekend in front of our great fans," Bolton added.
