Warriors, Jacks battle to scoreless tie

ARCATA -- The Lumberjacks stopped all nine of the Warriors' shots-on-goal attempts as the two teams battled to scoreless draw after 110 minutes of men's soccer action.

Cal State Stanislaus, 6-2-3 overall and 5-2-2 in conference play, remains in second place in the CCAA North Division, one point behind leader Chico State. Humboldt State is 2-6-3, 2-5-2 CCAA.

The Warriors took 25 shots with nine on frame, but HSU goalkeeper Kyle Verle had nine saves to keep Stanislaus off the scoreboard.

Humboldt State had 18 shots with two shots on frame picked up by Warrior goalkeeper Javier Rosales.

The Warriors road trip continues on Sunday when they visit Sonoma State at 11:30 a.m.
