Golden Eagles fly by Stanislaus

LOS ANGELES -- Three Warriors scored in double digits but they accounted for 43 of the team's points as Cal State L.A. Golden Eagles held home court to beat Cal State Stanislaus, 75-59, Thursday night.

Chad Johnson led the Warriors with 19 points while Matt Ibewiro scored 12 and pulled eight rebounds before the Warriors dropped to 10-16 overall and 6-15 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The Warriors will end the season under first-year head coach Larry Reynolds in Carson on Friday when they take on Cal State Dominguez Hills in the season finale.

Jordan Stokes had 12 points and Dwight Jones scored seven but the Stanislaus bench combined for nine points.

Cal State L.A., already qualified for the conference tournament, improved to 14-12 and 10-11 in the CCAA. The Golden Eagles were led by Chris Robinson with 21 points and eight rebounds. Dwayne Jones scored 15 and Carl Hoffman had 14.

Cal State L.A. shot a solid 54.3 percent for the game, hitting on 25 of 46 field goal attempts. They also made six of 10 three-pointers.

The Golden Eagles led by as many as 25 points halfway through the second half. They also dominated the boards, out-rebouding the Warriors 47-27.
