TURLOCK – With a tenacious team effort the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team won its fourth consecutive conference match with a 3-1 win (25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 25-22) over #21 UC San Diego Saturday night at Warrior Arena.

The four-match winning streak marks the first time in history the Warriors accomplished that feat since joining the California Collegiate Athletic Association in 1998. The Warriors complete a perfect 3-0 week to improve to 8-4 overall and 5-2 in the CCAA.

The 8-4 record ties the best start in program history.  The 2002 team also started 8-4 en route to set a school record of 19 wins overall.

UC San Diego, one of top programs in the region, falls to 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the CCAA.

Lianne Vicchio led the balanced offense with 12 kills. Melissa Bishop had nine kills and three Warriors – Eva Chafeh, Andrea Fett and Kaycee Gow – had 8 kills a piece.

"It is nice to see our team continue to improve and play up to its ability," says CSUS head coach Christina Lore.  "I am happy to see that we have won four in-a-row."
