SAN FRANCISCO —
Lianne Vicchio had 15 kills and 14 digs for her 50th career double-double, but San Francisco State rallied for three strights to beat Cal State Stanislaus in four, 25-27, 25-15, 25-14, 25-18.
Vicchio led the Warriors with 15 kills on 57 attempts with nine errors, but the Warriors dropped to 9-9 overall and 5-9 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Eva Chafeh added 12 kills and
Jennifer Marsh chipped in 10 kills for Stanislaus. Libero
Jaclyn Pinasco led all players with 23 digs while
Jessica Lehner had 16 digs to go with her 38 assists.
San Franciso State, 11-9, 7-9 CCAA, was led by Halimah Oswald with 17 kills. Iris Tolenada had 47 assisists.
The Warriors won the close first set after the teams were tied as late as 25-25. Marsh put away one of her kills to make it 25-even after SFSU had set point. Chafeh then put away a point for 26-25 before a SFSU attacking error gave the Warriors set number one.
Unfortunately for the Warriors the rest of the way, the matches weren't as close as the Gators rolled to the four-set victory.
The Warriors will now travel to Cal Poly Pomona for a Saturday night match at 7 p.m.
