Lianne Vicchio had a career-high 28 kills as she led the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday night.
The Warriors rallied after losing the first set to win 24-26, 25-17, 26-24, 25-18. Stanislaus improved to 8-7 overall and 4-7 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
Vicchio, who had a career-best 23 kills last Saturday against Cal State Monterey Bay, surpassed her best Saturday night with a prolific attack. The outside hitter took 53 attempts with just three errors to go with her totals — that calculates to a .472 attacking percentage.
The senior captain also notched her 48th career double-double by leading the team with 15 digs.
Also contributed strongly to the offense was
Eva Chafeh who had 14 kills with a .480 attacking percentage. As a team, the Warriors turned in a .384 clip.
Setter
Jessica Lehner had 52 assists — her third 50-assist match this season. It was her first time accomplish this feat in a four-set match.
Jennifer Marsh added eight kills and
Janay Bankston chipped in seven to pace the Warriors.
Elizabeth Krieger led the Toros with 22 kills and 13 digs. CSUDH fell to 1-14 overall and 0-11 in the CCAA.
Cal State Stanislaus returns home and will host Sonoma State and Humboldt State next weekend at Fitzpatrick Arena.
