Warriors finish 2-0 on the road

Hayward, Calif. – The Cal State Stanislaus men's basketball team defeated Cal State East Bay (81-64) for the second time this season Saturday night in a California Collegiate Athletic Association contest.

This is the Warriors second consecutive win on the road, improving their record to 10-12 overall and 8-10 in the CCAA.  Cal State East Bay remains in last place in the CCAA with a record of 2-16, 4-18 overall.

Reggie Jones led the Warriors with 20 points, 7-for-10 from the floor and 6-for-7 from the free throw line.  Evan Scott followed closely with 19 points.

In the start of the first half the Warriors took an early lead, but the score was tied four times throughout the first half.  With 5:10 left in the first half the Warriors took a 15-4 run over the Pioneers going into halftime.

In the second half of regualation completely belonged to the Warriors.  Cal State East Bay was not able to take control or tie the game once within the second half.   Stanislaus took the biggest lead of the game with 00:38 left in the regulation after Prince Abidoye made two from the foul line.

Contributing to a strong Warrior offense was Brett Sayad with 11 points and Mactar Gueye with nine points on the night.  

Stanislaus defense shined once again as they out-rebounded the Pioneers 37-21.  Gueye led with seven rebounds and Dwight Jones snagged five rebounds.  

Pioneers' Donavon Jackson led his team with 15 points and six rebounds.  Roshun Wynne followed with 14 points, shooting 3-for-6 from the floor, 1-for-4 from the arch, and 7-for-7 from the foul line.

The Warriors return home next weekend to take on Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona.
