LOS ANGELES -- Rosario Bras scored eight minutes into the first overtime period as No. 10 ranked Cal State L.A. escape home field with a 2-1 win over Cal State Stanislaus Friday night.
Bras' goal, assisted by Marvin Sandoval, ended the closely contested match with the visiting Warriors ready to challenge the highly ranked Golden Eagles. However, in the end, Cal State Stanislaus falls to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play.
The Warriors tied the score early in the second half when
Jose Velazquez headed in a
Nolan Holdridge cross into the box. The came came at 49:19 to even the score after Cal State L.A. had struck first in the 23rd minute of the match.
Timo Schward scored for Cal State L.A. at 22:29 to help keep the Golden Eagels stay unbeaten at 4-0-1, 2-0-1 CCAA.
Cal State L.A. out-shot the Warriors 15-10. Stanislaus goalkeeper
Bill Hambelton had four saves.
