Volleyball takes on Southern Cal foes

Coming off a 2-1 week, the Warriors are poised to host Southern California opponents Cal State L.A .and Cal State Dominguez Hills this weekend at Fitzpatrick Arena.

Series Notes vs. Cal State L.A.: In 2008, the Warriors upset then-ranked No. 13 Cal State L.A., 3-2, here in Turlock. That was the last Stanislaus win in the series as the Golden Eagles have a six-match winning streak against Stanislaus. L.A. leads the series 25-3 during the CCAA era.

Series Notes vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills: Cal State Stanislaus won the last two meetings in this series and is 7-3 in the last 10. The Warriors lead the CCAA series 16-12 since 1998 with a 9-6 mark at home.

Oh, What a Week! The Warriors went 2-1 last week, including an upset win over Chico State in straight sets in Turlock on Wednesday. They followed up performance with a thrilling come front behind win at Cal State East Bay on Friday. Stanislaus trailed the Pioneers 0-2 and won three straight for the victory.

Fett's Career Week: Andrea Fett turned in a career performance to help the Warriors rally to beat Cal State East Bay on Friday. She posted career highs with 23 kills, 17 digs and four blocks in the win. For the week, in three matches, Fett totaled 49 kills (4.08 kills per set), 37 digs and five total blocks. Fett leads the team with 227 kills and a 3.60 kills per set average, which is also fifth best in the CCAA.

Career Year for Fett: With 227 kills already this season, which is already her career-best in a season, Andrea Fett moved up to No. 8 in the CSUS Top 10 list with 634 career kills. Her 138 digs is already just 20 shy of last year's total and she could move into the top 10 in that category before long this season. Fett's current attacking average of 3.60 per set is second only to Lianne Vicchio's single season mark of 3.72 (2011).

About Cal State L.A. (7-9, 5-4 CCAA): The Golden Eagles has won two straigh to end a three-match skid. Marquis Mora leads the CCAA with a .367 attacking percent and a 1.37 blocks per set average. Mora is also fifth with 0.38 aces per set.

About Cal State Dominguez HIlls (7-9, 5-4 CCAA): The Toros seem to spread the offense around with four players with at least 96 kills and averaging two or more kills per set. Elizabeth Krieger leads the team with 190 kills and 2.97 per set. The Toros lead the CCAA in digs. CSUDH is 1-3 in its last four matches with a win at Humboldt State last Friday.
