Box Score POMONA - The beginning of the second half of the CCAA schedule was not kind to the visiting Warriors as they found themselves on the short end of three close sets against the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos 26-24, 25-23, 25-22, Thursday night at Kellogg Gym.
This was the first of four straight road games for Cal State Stanislaus and the loss drops the Warriors to 6-14 overall and 3-9 in CCAA action, while it improves the Broncos to 10-9, and 6-6 in CCAA play.
The Warriors hung tight in all three games and had a chance at set point with a 24-23 advantage in the first set. However the Broncos were able to notch three straight winners to take the set. In the second set the Warriors jumped out to a lead that grew to as many as six at 14-8, before the Broncos finished the match outscoring the Warriors 17-9 to claim the set. The Broncos took a five-point advantage late in the third set before eventually winning by three and sweeping the match.
Andrea Fett led the Warriors attack with 13 kills, while
Jennifer Marsh chipped in with eight.
Ashley Pittman led the Warriors with 12 kills and
Kendal Munoz notched 28 assists.
The Warriors posted just a .207 attack percentage, while the Broncos hit .326. The Broncos did not have anyone post double digit kills.
The Warriors will next be in action on Saturday as they travel up to Humboldt State to face the Lumberjacks.
