Box Score SAN BERNARDINO — The Warriors are heading back to the CCAA Championship tournament. With Sunday's 1-0 win over Cal State San Bernardino, Cal State Stanislaus has clinched a spot in the conference event.
Nolan Holdridge's second half goal propelled the Warriors to the win over the Coyotes as Stanislaus improved to 9-3-2 overall and 7-3-2 in the CCAA North. Under the 2012 bylaws due to the Humboldt State men's soccer situation, two teams from each division will qualify for the conference tournament.
The Warriors have earned 23 points and are in second place in the CCAA North. With one more match Sonoma State (17 points), which has lost three straight, will not be able to catch-up. Chico State leads the CCAA North with 28 points (after playing to a scoreless draw on Sunday at UC San Diego).
It will be the Warriors' second consecutive appearance in the CCAA Championships, to be helded in Carson, Nov. 2-4.
On Sunday, against a Coyotes team that plays for ties -- CSUSB has seven this season -- the match appared to be headed that way until late in the match.

Luis Guzman connected to find Holdridge for the match's only score at 74:14.
Clint Long had six saves. He now has 66 saves (second best in the CCAA) this season and with his sixth shutout lowered his goals against average to 0.76.
Cal State San Bernardino is now 4-4-7, 4-4-5 CCAA South.
