Sonoma State takes down Warriors in three

Box Score ROHNERT PARK — The Sonoma State Seawolves were effective on offense as they defeated Cal State Stanislaus in straight sets, 25-14, 25-13, 25-17, Friday night.

Jennifer Marsh led the Warriors with seven kills on 16 attacks with one error (.375), but the SSU defense held CSUS to a .062 hitting percentage.  Ashley Pittman recorded a match-high 14 digs on the backline for the Warriors, while Andrea Fett had 11 digs. Fett had five kills and Janay Bankston chipped in four.

Cal State Stanislaus, now 7-15, 4-10 in the CCAA, faces San Francisco State Saturday night in San Francisco. Sonoma State improved to 16-6 overall and 10-4 in conference play.

As a team, Sonoma State hit .323 with 44 kills and 12 errors in 99 attacks, led by the match-high 10 kills from Hull, nine from Caylie Seitz and seven from both Johnson and Ally SatherHayley Ross handed out 22 assists and Sather aced three serves.  Defensively, Nicole Gragnola and Ross tied for the team lead with nine digs as SSU outdug Cal State Stanislaus, 58-38.
