ROHNERT PARK — Nolan Holdridge's header response to No. 18 Sonoma State's early goal turned out to be the final time anyone can find the back of the net as Cal State Stanislaus and the Seawolves battled to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

Holdridge scored his second goal of the year on the header in the 38th minute from a Luis Guzman cross from the left to tie the score. Cal State Stanislaus moved to 4-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the CCAA North.

The match was the Warrior's only contest this weekend due to the cancellation of the match at Humboldt State. On the other sider of the pitch, Sonoma State was coming off an OT loss to Chico State on Friday before today's double-overtime showdown.

Sonoma State, the only ranked team in the CCAA, fell to 5-2-1, 4-1-1 in conference play.

The Seawolves got on the board early inside the seven-minute mark. At 6:47, Evan Filipczyk knocked one in on a free kick that went through defenders to give SSU the 1-0 lead.

The Warriors responded at 37:40 on the Holdridge header as the equalizer.

The teams fought the rest of the way without much offensive action. In fact, after the 8-2 shot advantage turned in by Sonoma in the first half, teams only took five shots each for the rest of the 65 minutes of the soccer match.

Clint Long was against stellar in goal, picking up five saves, including three in the first half.

Cal State Stanislaus remains unbeaten against Sonoma State in the last three matches at 1-0-2 and are 2-1-2 in the last five meetings.

The Warriors will travel to Chico State on Friday as their only match this coming week.
