Box Score POMONA —
Blair Ehrlich,
Paige Walker and
Hannah Green all had one of their better matches of the season but that wasn't enough as Cal State Stanislaus fell to Cal Poly Pomona in four.
After once again taking the first set, the Warriors dropped the next three for the 18-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-21 final scores.
Ehrlich had 17 kills on her second best hitting night of the year (.279 attacking percentage). It was her 11th double-digit kill match. Walker put-away a career high 16 kills with her best hitting average of .343. Setter
Hannah Green was one assist shy of 50, which would have been her third 50-plus assist contest this season.
Just like Thursday nights match at Humboldt State, the Warriors got off to a great start in the first set. They had a lead as large as 16-9 on Walker's fourth kill of the opener.
But Pomona made it a little close before the 25-18 score and gained momentum. From that point on, Stanislaus only led once briefly in the second and early in the third and fourth sets before falling to 5-14 overall and 2-9 in the CCAA.
Cal Poly Pomona (7-12, 5-6 CCAA) was led by Lauren Jones and Jessica Doerner each with 14 kills as they played keep-away from Warrior libero
Sarah Crowl, who ended up with 18 digs. Crowl entered the match as the CCAA leader in both digs and digs per set.
Jocelyn Cervantes had 10 kills and
Taylor Massengale blocked six shots, with two solos, and had seven kills to pace the Warriors.
