Box Score LA JOLLA — In another trip down to the San Diego area, where some of the new Warriors are from, the Cal State Stanislaus women's volleyball team wasn't able to come away with a win at 12th ranked UC San Diego.
Blair Ehrlich (who is from San Diego) picked up yet another double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs, but the Warriors dropped their overall record to 7-16 overall and 4-11 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. It was Ehrlich's ninth double-double this season and her second in four matches.
UC San Diego improved to 20-3 overall and 12-3 in the CCAA, in second place behind Cal State San Bernardino, after the 25-10, 25-16, 25-23 win over Stanislaus. Caitlin Brenton led the Tritons with 14 kills.
The Warriors wrap-up a brutal roadtrip, facing powerhouse programs in back to back nights. Last night, they lost at No. 13 Cal State San Bernardino in straight sets.
CSUSB and UCSD seemed to be hitting away from top libero
Sarah Crowl, who had just nine digs on Saturday — the first time she was in single digit in digs this season. Friday night, the freshman had 10. Crowl entered the match as the CCAA's leader in digs (453) and digs per set (5.66).
Unfortunately for the Warriors, no one else had much offense going. Four other players had two kills apiece, including La Jolla native
Christianna Knutson.
Paige Walker started as the setter in place of
Hannah Green and ended up with 23 assists.
Crystal Tillett, also from San Diego, had six digs while
Jordan Harris (of near-by Alpine) did not play.
Cal State Stanislaus will have three matches this coming week, at all home at Fitzpatrick Arena. Wednesday, the Warriors entertain Chico State at 7 p.m.
