Box Score TURLOCK -- Derrek Duke Driggs's overtime sudden victory goal lifted the visiting Pioneers of Cal State East Bay as they spoiled the Warriors' senior day on Sunday.
Cal State Stanislaus finished the 2013 campaign 8-9-1 overall and 7-9-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association despite a strong second half, including four wins in the last six matches. The Warriors did not finish with a winning record for just the first time in five yars.
Cal State East Bay scored first at 52:41 on a goal by Javier Martin but the Warriors got even.
Jose Ramirez tied the match in the 76th minutes with
Danny Ochoa getting the assist. Ramirez, who also scored on Friday against Humboldt State, finished with a team-best six goals.
However, the game stayed tied until the extra period and at 96:53, Driggs found a loose ball in front of the Stanislaus goalkeeper
Clint Long for the win. East Bay ended up 5-12-1 overall and 5-10-1 in conference play.
It was the Pioneers' first win over the Warriors in eight matches (1-5-2).
With the CCAA regular season ended, four teams will visit Warrior Stadium for the CCAA Soccer Championships. Cal State L.A. (10-1-5 CCAA) will be the top seed with UC San Diego (11-2-3) No. 2 and Chico State (11-3-2) third. CCAA North Division winner Sonoma State (8-4-3) will be the fourth seed.
