Volleyball goes down twice at Seawolf Spike

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ROHNERT PARK — The Cal State Stanislaus women's volleyball team took on a nationally ranked team and a team they saw last week but came up on the short end both times at the Seawolf Spike on Friday.

No. 12 ranked Western Washington defeated the Warriors, 25-12, 25-15, 25-17 in a mid-day match and Stanislaus dropped a three-set decision to Montana State Billings in the afternoon, 25-21, 25-14, 25-18.

Paige Walker led the Warriors with eight kills while Blair Ehrlich put away seven kills against the WWU VIkings. Sarah Crowl had 15 digs and Walker added nine digs. WWU held the Warriors without a block while the Vikings offense had a .356 hitting percentage.

In the matinee match against the Yellowjackets, Ehrlich recorded 10 kills with Walker chipping in seven, in the 25-21, 25-14, 25-18 decision.

The Warriors fared much better with the blocking game with Walker picking up three blocks. Taylor Massengale had five blocks with one assist. Sarah Crowl had 15 digs.

The Warriors (1-5) will face Hawaii Pacific and Dominican at the Seawolf Spike, hosted by Sonoma State, on Saturday.
