Ehrlich posts 18 kills in CCAA opener loss

Box Score CHICO — Blair Ehrlich made a splash in the California Collegiate Athletic Association as Cal State Stanislaus opened conference play at Chico State Wednesday night.

Ehrlich had a match-best 18 kills to lead the team, however, the Warriors dropped a 3-1 match, 18-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-17.

Cal State Stanislaus had a strong first set with a lead as large as 10 at 19-9 before posting the 25-18 win. Ehrlich, a freshman from San Diego, had five of her kills in the opening set. She also had 14 digs for her third straight double-double.

But Chico State rolled off three straight tight sets on home court to improve to 4-4 overall and 1-0 in CCAA play. Cal State Stanislaus is 3-6 overall.

Paige Walker added 10 kills and 10 digs and three other Warriors each had six kills. Libero Sarah Crowl's 26. At the net, Jordan Harris led the way with six total blocks with one solo.

Chico State had 47 of its 55 kills from three players with Ellie Larronde putting away 17. Lindsay Quigley added 16 and Hannah Wilkins 14. No other Wildcat had more than four kills.

Cal State Stanislaus has two more CCAA matches on the road this week at Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay to warp-up a 11-match stretch away from Fitzpatrick Arena to start the season.
