Box Score SAN BERNARDINO — It's the same story for the Warriors in another one-goal loss as they out-shot opponents again. This time, on Friday, Cal State San Bernardino blanked Cal State Stanislaus, 1-0, at CSUSB Premier Field.
Tony Lo's goal in the 66th minute lifted the host Coyotes as they improved to 7-4-0 overall and 3-4-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The Warriors have gone 0-2-1 in the last three matches on the road, fell to 4-6-3, 2-3-2 in CCAA.
For the fifth time this season in six losses, the Warriors lost by the smallest margin of one score.
And like it is the case of most of year thus far, the Warriors out-shot their opposition. Friday by a margin of 19-9 over CSUSB with seven shots on goal. Stanislaus has out-shot teams in 10 of the 13 matches.
Clint Long grabbed five saves on Friday to lead the Warriors and the Stanislaus defense pretty much kept the Coyotes from attacking.
Lo's goal, at 65:27, was assisted by Diego Mendoza and Daniel Looker.
The Warriors return home to host Chico State on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Warrior Stadium, where Stanislaus last won on Oct. 5 in a 2-0 win over Sonoma State.
