Tough Way to Start the Year: As if the CCAA schedule isn't tough enough, the Warriors challenged themselves in a preseason tournament in Ellensburg, Wash., to start the year and faced regional powers from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the Pacific West Conference. Stanislaus matched up against NCAA regional tourament teams Central Washington and No. 12 Western Washington, as well as Hawaii Pacific, one of the top teams in the PacWest. Then, the Warriors had to start the conference season on the road at No. 14 UC San Diego and Cal Poly Pomona.
