Box Score 2 ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Facing a strong field in the season-opening tournament on the road, the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team dropped two more matches on Saturday, falling to No. 12 Western Washington and Hawaii Pacific in straight sets.
Blair Ehrlich cooled off another a hot start against the No. 12 Vikings in the Warriors' first match of the day before eventually ended up with 10 kills and seven digs. The sophomore put-away seven kills in the second match against HPU to finish the weekend with 39 kills in four matches.
The Warriors (0-4) also got a team-high eight kills from
Lindsay Skadeland against the Sea Warriors (1-2).
Sarah Crowl had 23 digs in two matches on Saturday.
Ehrlich started the day hot, hitting nearly .500 without an attacking error early against Western Washington. But WWU proved to be too strong, finishing off the Warriors with a strong third set as the Vikings collecting nailed 44 percent of their shots.
The schedule doesn't get any easier for Stanislaus in a tough West Region as the Warriors open CCAA play next weekend on the road. They will face No. 11 UC San Diego in La Jolla on Friday and Cal Poly Pomona (2-0 before Saturday's tournament play in Seattle) on Saturday.
