Volleyball hosts Cal State San Marcos on Halloween

The Stanislaus State volleyball team hosts Cal State San Marcos in a single-match week in a Saturday martinee as part of the Warriors' Triple Scare Halloween.

Team Records: 12-8, 6-8 CCAA (9th) [CCAA Standings]

Saturday
Warriors vs. Cal State San Marcos, Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena, 1 p.m. | [Live Video] [Live Stats]

Series Notes: The Warriors and Cal State San Marcos are meeting for the second time ever. Earlier this month, on Oct. 16, the Warriors dropped a five-set match to the Cougars.

Finally Home For a While: Stanislaus State is finally playing some home matches as the Warriors will be home for four straight -- the longest such streach this season. So far this year, Stan State is 4-2 when playing at Fitzpatrick Arena, including three straight victories. During the last homestand, the Warriors earned epic wins over Chico State and Cal Poly Pomona.

Working on a Winning Season: The Warriors have a shot at posting the program's first winning season since 2002 when that team went 19-13. In 2000, the Warriors were 18-13. The 2015 squad would have to win one more match to secure at least a .500 season and two more contests to have a chance for a winning year.

Ehrlich Surpasses 3,000: As the go-to Warrior for three seasons, Blair Ehrlich has surpassed 3,000 attempts in her career, now at 3,004. That mark puts her at No. 4 on the Stanislaus State top 10 list. She now has 829 kills.

Among the CCAA Leaders: Taylor Massengale continues to among the top five players in the CCAA in hitting percentage with a .335, which is fifth best. Maddi Seidl is fourth in assists per match with a 9.76 average.

Digs & Aces: Stanislaus, as a team, still leads the conference in digs per set at 18.97. Maddi Seidl leads the team with 3.68 digs per set. The Warriors are also second with 1.47 service aces per set.

About the Opponent: Cal State San Marcos (5-18, 2-12 CCAA) has lost three straight since defeating the Warriors at home on Oct. 16. The Cougars are 1-8 in their last nine since posting their only other CCAA win over Cal State East Bay on Sept. 26. CSUSM is one of the better blocking teams in the conference, at second with 2.08 per set. Their 179 total blocks is third best among CCAA teams. Jordan Banich leads the team with 202 kills and 2.81 kills per set. CSU San Marcos is in its first season as a CCAA member.
